It appears that major league baseball this year will go with a July 31st trade deadline, meaning the rosters they have August 1st will be the rosters they have until the end of the season. The number of September rosters will be capped at 28 and that will prevent every team from calling up minors in September that normally would have been called up. Rosters will also expand to 26 starting in 2020. What does the league think of the new-look MLB? One question and should gopherball also introduce a July 31st trade deadline or leave it in August? Comments welcomed.

I like the new MLB rule. I say move our deadline to 7/31 to match

I personally like having our deadline a little later, teams that are out of the playoff run hopefully remain a little active trying to build and line up tags for next season. I think it keeps people a more engaged. But I can live with either.
I'd also be open to expanding our active rosters to match. On a side note, I do not like the three batter minimum part of the rule. I think it handcuffs the defensive manager to counteract pinch hitters.

Keep trade deadline in August.
Either way on roster size.
